COVID19......

Hi Everyone

As we slowly get our heads around resuming organised club paddles again, there will be some changes to how go about things to make us all COVID safe.

To see the official Canoe Wales current guidance, go their website at:

For the foreseeable future, if you are intending to come along to any of the paddles, PLEASE let the leader know IN ADVANCE so we have a good idea of the numbers.

The club committee has produced a risk assessment for these paddles, but before we meet up, please read the following additional guidelines we ALL need to follow:

  1. DO NOT EVEN THINK about attending if you have think you have been in contact with someone with COVID19 recently!

  2. You will need to confirm that you DO NOT currently have any symptoms of COVID19 including a) High temperature; b) A new, continuous cough; c) A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste.

  3. Only members of extended households should share cars.

  4. Maintain social distancing (i.e. 2m between people) at ALL times – this will be especially important whilst we are unloading boats and gathering for the launch. This also applies when you meet other members of the public using the area.

  5. Make sure you are registered on the sign-in sheet – someone will complete this for you, but it will help if YOU ensure that your details are recorded.

  6. All shared equipment should be quarantined for at least 72 hours or cleaned correctly before it is shared again with others. If you can, please bring all your own safety gear and do not rely on the club to provide this.

  7. As recommended, wash / sanitise your hands regularly. Please bring your own sanitiser & disposable gloves in case these are not available

  8. More guidance will be given on the day regarding the paddle itself, rescues & rafting-up etc.

  9. Anything else…? Oh yes – HAVE FUN!
